The Czechs scoop up all the Gold medals today in the Euro Champs Slalom, showing their great skill at this discipline as they have on the other days.
The morning saw the Czechs grab the Gold medals in the R6 men’s and women’s categories and the afternoon saw another great performance by them. In the R4 the top three men’s teams made their first rounds count with Germany producing a near exact replica of their first round by being only 0.15secs faster and receiving the same 5 sec penalty.

An example being Slovakia women 1 who were lying 5th after Round 1 but came back to secure a Silver medal in Round 2. The big surprise once again in the women was Belgium who put in a great
performance and secured a very solid Bronze medal. This puts them in a fairly comfortable 3rd position overall with just the Downriver to come.
The men’s competition overall is looking to be a clear win for Czech 1 as they have won all 3 disciplines so far and are a hefty 131 points ahead of the nearest rival, Slovania 2, who are on 469 points. Slovakia 1 could still upset Slovenai 2’s plans for Silver tomorrow though as they are only 17 points behind them.
In the women’s section Slovakia 1 are only 14 points ahead of Czech women 1, so these teams will be paddling for golden glory tomorrow. Belgium is 56 points behind Czech 1 and so need to be at least a few places ahead of them if they wish to climb up the overall standings tomorrow.
So can Czech Men 1 make it a clean sweep and win all 4 disciplines? Join us tomorrow to see the great final paddle off!
