Applications for the 2018 Yushu World Rafting Plateau Championship is now open!

Teams from across the globe are welcome to apply. Racing will take place in the City of Yushu in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai, China. The Batang and Yangtze Rivers will be host to racing in the R4 format.

The event will follow IRF Race Rules in all four disciplines (Sprint, H2H, Slalom and Downriver). Race categories will only be in Open Men and Open Women – teams of other ages are welcome to apply and compete in the OM category.

The event takes place from 07 August to 13 August 2018. Teams will need to arrive on the 07th or 08th to acclimatise… YuShu City is at 3700 metres above sea level!
Training takes place on 09 August with racing on the 10th, 11th and 12th August. Teams will depart on the 13th of August.

Subsidies are available to all teams – they are capped at ¥32,000 (approx $5000 USD). There are a maximum number of teams permitted – the organisers are looking for a good mix of teams from across the globe. When submitting application forms, teams should include details in the email of why they are best suited including details of recent competitions.

There is a quick turn around for applications for this event – applications need to be submitted by close of business on Tuesday, 05th June.

Accommodation forms are not required until 15th June – teams can apply for consideration and then submit accommodation forms once they know if they are confirmed for attending the event.
