HATEOA joins the IRF as an Associate member
The Hellenic Association of Tourism Enterprises in Outdoor Activities (HATEOA) represents the companies that offer tourist services of outdoor leisure activities and are active both in the countryside and in the urban environments of Greece. Founded in 2012, it is a member of SETE and the European Federation of Outdoor Businesses (EC-OE). which is an organisation in Greece.
HATEOA’s purpose:
- The participation in the formation of the institutional framework for the development of outdoor tourism activities and the intervention to the state services for the defense of the interests of its members.
- The creation, at European level, of the training and certification framework of the animators of outdoor activities with the aim of modernization, certification and institutional recognition of the professionals that offer services of outdoor leisure activities.
- The creation, at European level, of a certified risk assessment and management system for all outdoor activities.
Head of their Rafting Committee is Yiannis Holevas who has been an active IRF Instructor and supporter since 2004. He is also a Rescue 3 and kayak trainer in Greece. Also on the committee is George Poulopoulos who has also been an IRF Instructor and supporter for a very long time as well as being a key organiser of the IRF’s 2017 GTE Conference in Greece.
HATEOA feels that becoming an Associate Member to the IRF will boost their work towards ensuring they have a good, world recognised system in place for training and accrediting guides.
